Designs for different clinical needs

Each option has its own characteristics for movement, control, and fitting inside footwear. The final choice is made after assessment.

Leather Rigid Ankle AFO

A rigid design for ankle and foot control. In the slides, it is presented for mild PTTD, mild-to-moderate DJD, talocalcaneal varus or valgus, as well as certain traumatic and deformity-related conditions.

RIGID

Hybrid Plastic Overlap AFO

Designed to control deformities in the frontal and transverse planes. The anatomical placement of the joints preserves sagittal ankle motion to improve comfort and usability.

HYBRID

Leather Articulated Tamarack AFO

The articulated design allows movement in the sagittal plane while stabilizing the ankle. The slides list mild PTTD, mild-to-moderate supination or pronation, varus or valgus, and ankle instability.

ARTICULATED

Traditional Plastic Rigid AFO

Provides maximum medial and lateral stability. It may be considered for foot drop, weakness of the plantar or dorsiflexors, gait deviations, and DJD, based on professional indication.

STABILITY

Balance Brace AFO

Designed to provide additional stability for walking and balance difficulties. Its low-profile, open-top design makes it easier to fit inside footwear, while the heel-stabilizing section supports weight bearing.

Rigid AFOs limit unwanted movement and provide medial and lateral stability when stronger control is required.

Tamarack and Overlap designs allow controlled movement in the sagittal plane while maintaining the necessary support.

The slides list Free Motion Tamarack, Dorsi-Flexion Assist, Overlap, Oklahoma, Meridian, and 90° Plantar Stop joints. The appropriate option is determined through professional assessment.
