What problems can the assessment cover?

The podiatric areas shown in the slides range from skin and nail concerns to structural problems, injuries, and foot care related to chronic conditions.

Skin and nails

Athlete’s foot, fungal nails, ingrown toenails, calluses, warts, and blisters.

Structural and orthopedic problems

Flat feet or high arches, plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, and gait abnormalities.

Pediatric foot problems

Clubfoot, in-toeing or out-toeing, growing pains, and flat feet in children.

Injuries and overuse

Ankle sprains, fractures, tendinitis, sports-related overuse injuries, and stress fractures.

Care related to chronic conditions

Diabetic neuropathy and ulcers, slow healing, arthritic pain and deformities, and peripheral arterial disease.

Additional assessments and support

Custom orthotics, diabetic foot care, ankle orthoses, and sports and biomechanical assessments.

The structure of the foot and ankle, weight-bearing position, gait, and support needs during movement are assessed.

Digital scanning

Scanning can be performed in a weight-bearing or non-weight-bearing position, depending on the intended purpose of the orthosis.

Digital data for planning a personalized solution

The PLS Scan system shown in the slides is designed for iPhone and iPad devices and uses TrueDepth scanning. The collected data can help describe foot shape and fitting needs.
